Yesterday at the Berlinale Zoo Palast the world premiere of the coproduction Requiem for Mrs. J. (Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia) was held. The film is in the selection of Panorama Special and is “one of the more pleasantly surprising oddities to premiere at the Berlinale so far” according to the Hollywood reporter. “If Wes Anderson made a movie about suicidal Balkan widows, it would probably look like this”, the article adds.
The film was shot in Skopje, Belgrade and Sofia, where Bulgarian crew took part. The sound design is created by Boris Trayanov, the sound recordist is Alexander Bachvarov.
