Today the European Film Academy and EFA Productions announced the titles on EFA Feature Film Selection 2017
Godless by Ralitza Petrova received another yet international recognition being part of the prestigious list of 51 films from 31 European countries recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2017.
Another three successful films with Bulgarian participation are included in the list: Western (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria) by Valeska Grisebach with Bulgarian co-producer Chouchkov Brothers which had its world premiere at Cannes Un Certain Regard; Son of Sofia (Greece, Bulgaria, France) by Elina Psykou co-produced by Chouchkov Brothers (Best Film at Tribeca Film Festival) and Requiem for Mrs. J by Bojan Vuletic with Bulgarian co-producer Pavlina Jeleva that premeired at Berlinale Panorama at the beginning of the year.
Western, Son of Sofia and Requiem for Mrs. J will be shown at the Golden Rose Festival of Bulgarian Feature Film in Varna (29.09-07.10.2017) where Godless won the Best Film Award last year.
In the coming weeks, the over 3,000 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the categories European Film, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenwriter. The nominations will then be announced on 4 November at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain. A seven-member jury will decide on the awards recipients in the categories European Cinematographer, Editor, Production Designer, Costume Designer, Hair & Make-up Artist, Composer and Sound Designer.
The 30th European Film Awards with the presentation of the winners will take place on 9 December in Berlin.
